Our first stop on Day 3 of our trip was the wonderful New Glarus Brewing. Slightly confusing since the GPS took us to a small building called New Glarus Brewing but it is either a headquarter or some other type of offsite type building. They even had a map at the entrance telling you how to get to the actual brewery. Luckily...we found the real brewery. It was a mile down the road and looked like a castle! You drive up a long loop and park in the back of this massive building. We were there near opening, so it was dead.
Once you enter you're in a gift shop with LOTS of goodies from merchandise to food. They told us where to find the beer which was a neighboring building. Big taproom but sadly you can only get samples. But it's a great deal...$5 gets you a taster glass and a bracelet that has 4 tabs...4 samples. Stands out here are Moon Man, Scream IIPA, and Spotted Cow. But all the beers we tried were fantastic and the guys pouring were informative and real helpful.
The view here is killer. I would have my wedding here I could..and if I was getting married any time soon..or lived here haha.
Another cool thing here is you can take a self guided tour. Plenty to see...bottling line and everything!
As you leave you stop by the awesome beer shop out back where you can create your own 6 or 4 packs, buy cases, 22oz bottles, etc.
This is a place worth going out of your way for. Take the drive and enjoy it. http://www.newglarusbrewing.com/index.cfm/general/index

Karben4 Brewing - Madison, WI
After a great day in Chicago, we headed up to Madison, WI to the new and upcoming fantastic Karben4 Brewing. This place did not disappoint.
Good sized brewery and restaurant. Plenty of parking. For a Saturday night it was actually kind of dead...plenty of open tables for the taking. As always, I did a sampler. I tried the Fantasy Factory IPA, Tokyo Sauna Pale Ale, Undercover Session Ale, and Block Party Amber. The only stand out here was Fantasy Factory...which I had heard of before heading here so I wasn't too shocked.
Not much else to say here...great place, great service, good beer I would like to try other offerings from them, but if you are anywhere near Madison this is the brewery you need to go to! Check them out..http://www.karben4.com/
