Surly is north of Minneapolis so the next stop was Steel Toe which was a little to the south west of Surly. It was a little buried, but we found it. They have a massive parking lot, food stand outside, and inside it was PACKED. Not a big space, with very limited seating, but we were able to order a couple samples. Even though there was only 1 bartender and it was slammed, she was well composed and very friendly.
-As for the beer we tried Provider Ale which was smooth and light, Sommervice was real nice, Rainmaker Double Red was very nice and hoppy, Size 7 IPA was very good, and Size 11 was tasty but pretty strong.
-They don't sell their stuff in bottles with the exception of the Size 11 they were selling for about 10$. After talking to a couple locals they recommended that Steel Toe and Surly are THE places to go in Minneapolis, however I had a few other places on the itinerary but I was glad we got to see these two places first. Steel Toe had great beer, but if you don't like crowds I would suggest going earlier in the day (we went around happy hour time). Check out their info..www.steeltoebrewing.com/
